Anne Quinn - October 2016

3DPT: You were given an interesting ultimatum before having your surgery performed. What functional difficulty were you facing prior to your surgery and what made you take the leap to have the operation done?

AQ: Prior to my surgery, the pain in my left foot continued to get worse and worse despite varying degrees of conservative treatment. Walking even small distances was becoming harder to do. Without the surgery, I would have eventually faced the prospect of having to wear a permanent brace that would further complicate my ability to walk normally or for that matter walk at all.

3DPT: What was the biggest obstacle that you have faced throughout your Rehab after the surgery and how have you overcome it?

AQ: The biggest obstacle I faced was the amount of pain and restriction I was still having even though it had been several months since my surgery. The reason I could overcome these obstacles was because of the dedicated and caring people at 3-Dimensional Physical Therapy. Their always positive, caring and can-do attitude never let me give up on myself. Moreover, my Physical Therapist Anthony Blubello’s sincere interest in giving me back my quality of life was of utmost importance to him. This was very evident to me because he always took the time to explain the anatomy of my treatment and what he was trying to achieve with each type of treatment. He also took to the time to listen to what I had to say, which is something I didn’t get from the physical therapy place that I was assigned right after surgery.

3DPT: You’ve expressed you had a poor outcome with PT in the past Anne, what made you decide to give PT another try with 3D?

AQ: 3D had been recommended to me by my neighborhood pharmacist John Powers of Power’s Pharmacy as they had worked wonders in the past with his own son. Mr. Powers had nothing but positive things to say about 3D, not just because they helped his son tremendously, but because of the type of good hearted and caring people at 3D were.

3DPT: What goal/goals have you achieved with Physical Therapy and what goals are you still trying to complete?

AQ: Since coming to 3D Physical Therapy, my pain has decreased dramatically and my range of motion has improved so much so that everyday walking has become less of a chore and more of a normal everyday function that I don’t have to think about before doing it.

3DPT: What is your favorite exercise?

AQ: My favorite exercises are the treadmill and leg strengthening exercises because I have not been able to do them in over nine months.

3DPT: What is your favorite part about being involved with your town council?

AQ: By being proactive in my town’s council, is my way of trying to make a positive difference in the town that I live. Not just for me, but for all the residents of my community.
