Being involved in sports is a great way to stay active, have fun and take part in a team experience. Organized sports and school teams make participating easy when you’re young, but it’s not so simple when you’re older! For the vast majority of people that don’t go...
We can all admit that 2020 was a year like no other! This is especially true for our January Patient of the Month, Becky Rogers. Becky first came to 3DPT Tabernacle to rehab after a fractured arm, but soon after started experiencing muscle weakness and balance issues,...
HOW CAN WE HELP YOU?
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit. This quote is attributed to Aristotle from all the way back in the 4th century, but is still so applicable today! Excellence is usually not something that is simply a “one and done” act but...read more

One of the most common questions I am asked on a daily basis is why did I become a physical therapist. The honest answer is that I could not imagine being anything else. I grew up being very active in a whole bunch of sports. Soccer, softball, lacrosse, basketball,...read more

Joint Replacement Rehab
If you want to get the most out of your new joint, you have to get the most out of your physical therapy.
As common as various joint replacement procedures have become in recent years, recovery is still difficult. It takes hard work, commitment and perseverance on your part, and it takes the guidance, motivation and compassion of your physical therapist to get you to the finish line.
3DPT will ensure your program is customized to your needs and your lifestyle.
Frustration, pain and stiffness will be gradually replaced by mobility, flexibility and excitement. You’ll learn how to reduce strain on your joints and keep the momentum going with simple exercises you can do at home.
Think about why you’re considering joint replacement in the first place. Maybe the pain is constant. Maybe it keeps you awake at night. Maybe it’s too painful to do the things you love. The more active you are, the more important physical therapy is.
Contact 3DPT at 609-714-3378 to find out how physical therapy after joint replacement can help you regain the active lifestyle you deserve.

Functional Endurance Rehabilitation
Functional Endurance Rehabilitation is an exercise program that is established and monitored by a licensed physical therapist for those who fatigue quickly or have decreased endurance making daily activities difficult. Each program will consist of various endurance and strengthening activities that are specific to each patient’s individual needs. Those recovering from COVID-19 or have COPD, asthma, pneumonia, scoliosis, Parkinson’s Disease and/or general de-conditioning would benefit from Functional Endurance Rehabilitation.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)
The therapists at 3DPT will use stainless steel instruments designed to help pinpoint thickening or scarring produced by the body in response to injury.. We will then use the instruments to separate and break down scar tissue, stretch connective tissue and muscle fibers and increase blood flow to and from the affected area, all of which are crucial to the healing process.
As a result, patients experience increased range of motion and a significant reduction in, or elimination of, pain. If pain and reduced range of motion have been a problem for you, IASTM may be part of the solution.

Pediatric Physical Therapy
A common misconception is that physical therapy is physical therapy. PT is so diverse! With this in mind, it is very important to seek out a pediatric physical therapist for your child. Even better, you can go on the American Physical Therapy Association website and find a board certified Pediatric Physical Therapist in your area (http://www.abpts.org/FindaSpecialist/).
The services a pediatric physical therapist can offer include:
- Assessment of developmental and gross motor skills – to help make sure your child is reaching milestones on time
- Upper/lower extremity and spine evaluation – to make sure things are moving the way they should be
- Assessment of balance, gait, and mobility – to make sure your child is walking, running, and hopping the way he or she should be
- Assessment for brace or orthotic needs – to help make sure your child has good alignment from head to toe
- Assistive device and equipment assessment – to help promote independent mobility, no matter your child's skill set
Pediatric PT's work with children with a range of diagnoses, including, but not limited to:
- Cerebral Palsy
- Connective tissue diseases (such as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome)
- Coordination or balance disorders
- Developmental delay
- Gross motor delays
- Juvenille Rheumatoid Arthritis/Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
- Muscular dystrophy
- Neuromuscular disorders ( such as Charcot-Marie-Tooth)
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Trisomy 21
