Treatment areas of interest:
I look forward most to treating patients with orthopedic injuries (especially sports-related) but I’m eager to expand my interests as well!
Why I want to become a physical therapist?
I grew up in a very active family and loved playing sports, so exercise has always been important to me. While playing sports in high school I sustained injuries that required me to see a physical therapist. During my rehab I always wanted to learn more, and with the help of PT I was able to confidently return to play. Fast forward to today, I look forward to giving others the same feeling of confidence in their ability to function after injury.
What do you feel are the most important qualities in a physical therapist?
I believe that empathy and open-mindedness are two really important qualities in a physical therapist. Because an injury experience can affect a person in a number of ways, it’s crucial for a physical therapist to be empathetic and provide the support that the patient needs to succeed. Being open to learning and other’s perspectives are also important traits for a physical therapist to develop and provide quality, individualized care.
I am a huge sports fan and I’m always willing to chat about them! I enjoy exercising, playing sports, and just about anything outdoorsy. I also love to travel, cook, and try unique foods.
