Hayden Sullivan

Hayden Sullivan

Since freshman year, Hayden Sullivan has played on her Varsity field hockey team and this year she helped the team earn a 19-1 record and win the Colonial Conference championships!

Unfortunately Hayden’s hard work came at a price when during the playoffs, she sprained her right ankle pretty badly.

After a few weeks in a boot, Hayden started PT at 3DPT Haddon Heights. At first she had trouble balancing and had pain with walking but NOW she’s back to her championship-level status.  Check out this video to see her performing a few field hockey drills.

We got a chance to ask Hayden more about her injury and journey so far, here’s what she had to say:

3DPT: What brought you to physical therapy and how has it affected your life?

Hayden: I hurt my ankle during playoffs for field hockey. My trainer taped me up and I kept playing but after the season it just wasn’t getting better. I needed to do more than just rest if I was going to be able to play club hockey for the winter and lacrosse in the spring. I ended up getting it checked out with a physician and spent 3 weeks in a boot before starting PT.

3DPT: Tell us a little about your recovery process. What has been the hardest part of your therapy?

Hayden: The hardest part has been being sidelined from playing. I know it’s just temporary but it’s not easy.

3DPT: What advice would you give to other people who suffered similar injuries or going through the same situation?

Hayden: I’d tell them to take the time to do the PT work to get better. It’s going to be worth it in the long run & you can learn to prevent injuries.

3DPT: Why would you recommend 3 Dimensional Physical Therapy?

Hayden: Jess is so nice and really explains everything that’s being done. She wants you to get better and stronger and back to your sport.

3DPT: What are you able to do now that you may not have been able to do with your injury?

Hayden: I definitely have more mobility than I did when I was first injured. My ankle is feeling stronger and I can’t wait to get back to my sports.

Hayden is looking forward to getting back on the field and her next championship – this time, hopefully with her lacrosse team.  We have no doubt that with her dedication and drive she’ll be celebrating soon!
