Justin

Justin

3DPT’s November Patient of the Month holds a special place in the hearts of everyone at 3DPT Medford. Justin — better known around the clinic as Justincredible, is not only a long time patient, but he was also a PT Aide with us! Back in 2007, Justin was involved in a serious accident that left him with a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). In an instant he went from being a high school student to having to re-train his body and mind to do the things that had once been second nature.

Despite this, Justin has the BEST outlook and attitude of anyone you’d meet. He has been a go-to for laughs, smiles, and enough positive energy to power the entire 3DPT Medford clinic. And his motto, “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop,” is how he approaches his continuous hard work in PT. Whether lending a hand as an Aide or cracking a joke that brightens everyone’s day, Justin has made 3DPT Medford feel like home.

Here’s what he had to say about his experience at 3DPT Medford:

Tell us about what brought you to physical therapy and how this affected your life.

Well I have a Traumatic Brain Injury that I suffered in a head on collision with a box truck on May 31, 2007. And I have a right side hemiparesis (aka one-sided muscle weakness) due to my TBI.

What has been the hardest part of your therapy?  What was your favorite part of physical therapy?

My recovery is never ending. If I stop PT or working out my body for 2 weeks, I begin to regress. Balance is so difficult! But working with these PT’s – my man Ken (he is the MVP!!), Christina, Big Sean, and Apostle Paul – is definitely the best part of PT

What advice would you give to other people who suffered similar injuries or going through the same situation?

Never give up. And everyone with a TBI, Brain Injury, Stroke, and any kind of head injury your remember this, CAN’T STOP, WON’T STOP!

Traumatic Brain Injuries require a unique type of therapy and approach to treatment. In this video you’ll hear Justin share about his time at 3DPT Medford and see some of his PT challenging his balance, coordination, sensation, strength, and gait.

Why would you recommend 3 Dimensional Physical Therapy to your friends?

To the PT’s, Aides, and everyone working the front desk I love you guys! I would tell anyone that needs PT, that these therapists are so knowledgeable, and they always tried so many ways to get the effected muscles to work so hard!

Thank you guys for everything! Especially the aides (I was also an aide for 3DPT in Medford. I was the man cleaning the tables, so I went by Mr. Clean). I love you guys!

We love and will miss you too, Justin 💙
