Nicholas

Nick has been attending 3 Dimensional Physical Therapy Tabernacle for approximately 4 months now, after unfortunately suffering a fractured pelvis, femur and cervical spine following a motor vehicle accident. Since the accident, Nick faced many challenges such as having to wear a neck brace 24/7 for 8+ weeks, weight bearing restrictions from pelvis and femur surgeries, and he couldn’t work on his trucks for months. But while the beginning was tough, Nick was always motivated and eager to come to physical therapy because he knew it was one step closer to getting back to mudding in his truck and working out again. He has been an inspiration to the whole clinic and community for his hard work and we couldn’t be happier seeing him get back to the things he loves doing.

Here’s what Nick had to say about his injury and recovery at 3DPT Tabernacle:

Tell us about what brought you to physical therapy and how this affected your life.
In early September 2024 I was in a very bad car accident that almost took my life. I had suffered a broken neck (C2) my pelvis was cracked, hip joint snapped off of the top of my femur, and my femur snapped in half again in the middle. My everyday activities from waking up and getting dressed to coming home from working, were all things I couldn’t do any longer. Then I found 3DPT!

What has been the hardest part of your therapy?  What was your favorite part of physical therapy?
My recovery process started off pretty bad, I’m not gonna lie! I couldn’t even stand on my own without having to lean 90 percent of my weight onto crutches. I’d have to say the hardest part of my recovery process was the constant mental battle of doubt when I’d try an exercise that was supposed to be stupid easy and I couldn’t even begin it. But by far my favorite part of physical therapy has got to be the opposite, the greatest feeling ever was completing a challenge that I couldn’t get without the help of the amazing team at 3DPT.

What advice would you give to other people who suffered similar injuries or going through the same situation?
The best piece of advice I could give to someone going through the same or similar recovery would be to never give up no matter how hard some days are, because there will be days where u don’t feel like it’s making any progress but you gotta just keep pushing because in the end it’s 100% worth it!

Why would you recommend 3 Dimensional Physical Therapy to your friends?
I’d recommend someone to 3DPT for a few reasons but the biggest is how friendly and supportive the staff are through your recovery, they are extremely knowledgeable and know exactly what they are doing all the time every time and are never afraid to take a suggestion from you or to hear you out if something feels off during a exercise and they work around it to give you the smoothest and best rehabilitation as possible!

What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time I like to be outdoors as much as possible, if I’m stuck indoors I’m not happy at all lol. I love doing everything from just sitting outside and enjoying the fresh air to standing chest deep in freezing water duck hunting tucked up in the reeds on the edge of the water!!
