Rosemary
Rosemary began physical therapy at 3DPT Hainesport in May 2025 for treatment of Adhesive Capsulitis, commonly known as frozen shoulder. Frozen shoulder is a condition in which the shoulder joint becomes painful and extremely stiff due to inflammation and tightening of the joint capsule. Over time, this can make simple daily activities such as reaching overhead, getting dressed, lifting objects, and sleeping comfortably very difficult.
Rosemary was selected as 3DPT’s Patient of the Month because of her incredible consistency, determination, and positive attitude throughout her rehabilitation journey. Frozen shoulder recovery can be a long and frustrating process that requires patience and dedication, but Rosemary continued to show up, work hard, and trust the process every step of the way. Even during difficult periods when progress felt slow, she remained motivated and committed to both therapy sessions and her home exercise program. Her hard work led to significant improvements in her mobility, strength, pain levels, and overall function. More importantly, Rosemary’s perseverance and encouraging attitude made her a pleasure to work with and an inspiration to those around her.
1. Tell us about what brought you to physical therapy and how this has affected your life.
I pursued Physical Therapy due to an injury that had caused consistent pain and limited movement in my right shoulder. I began using my left arm for everyday activities. It was painful to hang clothes, reach for an item out of the kitchen cabinet, etc. I avoided putting my purse on that shoulder and the aching made sleeping difficult. The worst part is that it also limited my activity with my grandchildren. “Grammy” had to skip playing volleyball, etc. due to the pain for months. I had an MRI and the official diagnosis was “Frozen Shoulder” with the primary injuries in my bicep’s large tendon and my rotator cuff. Physical Therapy was recommended so I began 2 sessions per week.
2. Tell us a little about your recovery process. What has been the hardest part of your therapy? What was your favorite part of physical therapy?
The recovery has been a systematic process to restore movement to my right shoulder. The hardest part was the intense pain during the therapy process. Frozen shoulder is essentially encapsulated damaged scar tissue that does not allow you to move it without significant effort.
My favorite part of the physical therapy was making progress. Measuring the improvement in movement due to the sessions and completing exercises at home as well helped to motivate me.
3. What advice would you give to other people going through the same situation?
The recovery process requires time, effort and a lot of patience. You cannot compare yourself to other people. Stay the course and focus on the end goal of restoring your lifestyle by following the PT program and consistently doing the exercises.
4. Why would you recommend 3 Dimensional Physical Therapy?
I would recommend 3 Dimensional Physical Therapy because they are Patient Advocates. Their expertise, professionalism and genuine concern is evident in every session. The 3DPT Staff creates and maintains an environment where there is professional encouragement along with a sincere interest in patient welfare and recovery.
5. What are you looking forward to most this Summer?
I am looking forward to making memories with my wonderful family and friends, playing some golf and getting back into yoga now that my shoulder has improved
