Bob Dooley

Bob Dooley

Our July patient of the month, Bob Dooley is the Strength and Conditioning Coach for Seneca High School, the local high school for our Tabernacle’s location. Recently, Bob underwent rotator cuff surgery following a shoulder injury that occurred while lifting weights. With fall and the football season coming up, Bob has been working relentlessly to return to his and his players’ regimens. Even while Bob was vacationing in Mexico, he was reaching out for recommendations and tips to get back in the weight room faster. Great job Bob!

Here is what Bob had to say about his injury and his road to recovery with 3DPT:

Tell us what brought you to physical therapy and how this affected your life.

Bob:  I’ve had shoulder issues for more than a decade and in March I tore 2 rotator cuff tendons and dislocated my bicep. I chose to go to 3D because I’ve known Carlie Strazzullo and her family for a long time and trust her and whatever group she would work with. I’ve always been a “bad patient” and avoided therapy but finally decided I had to get my shoulder right if I wanted to achieve my goals.

Tell us a little about your recovery process. What has been the hardest part of your therapy?

Bob: The hardest part was deciding to commit to the process and trust the slow and steady approach. It’s something that, as a coach, I’ve preached but never practiced.

What advice would you give to other people who suffered similar injuries or are going through the same situation?

Bob: My advice would be to trust the process and be patient.

Why would you recommend 3 Dimensional Physical Therapy?

Bob: The staff, both the administrative staff and therapists, are kind and knowledgeable. They seem to truly care about their patients.

What are you most looking forward to that you may not have been able to do with your injury?

Bob: As someone who’s been lifting weights for most of my life and has lifted impressive amounts it is strange to be in this position but at one of my first visits there was another patient, recovering from a similar injury, doing push ups and I was so jealous. Simply doing a full push up will be a major turning point in my mind and am looking forward to it.
