Rick Stevenson

Rick Stevenson

Our August patient of the month, Rick Stevenson is a patient at our 3DPT West Berlin. He was in a car accident this past April and tore his rotator cuff. He started PT before having surgery to prepare his muscles for surgery and recovery. Rick is working very hard to get back to the things he loves, like having a catch with his son. He is committed to his physical therapy routine and works hard completing his daily exercises. Rick is well on his way to getting back his full strength in his arm.

Here is what Rick had to say about his injury and his road to recovery with 3DPT:

Tell us what brought you to physical therapy and how this affected your life.

Rick:  I was in a car accident on April 13,2023. I had several injuries that 3D Physical Therapy worked with me to overcome. The most notable injury sustained was my torn rotator cuff. My son Shane works at 3D Physical Therapy and guided me through the process of preparation leading up to surgery at Cooper Hospital along with the subsequent physical therapy at 3DPT is my new normal, I am there 3 nights a week and achieving daily improvement which has greatly affected my quality of everyday life.

Tell us a little about your recovery process. What has been the hardest part of your therapy?

Rick: My recovery has been challenging, yet rewarding. At 3D they provide exercises that make me feel like I’m working and improving, not to mention the great care from the staff at all levels from the PT’s, Aides, and front desk. You feel welcomed and accommodated.

I find that the wall wash exercise is the most challenging yet necessary and rewarding after completion.

What advice would you give to other people who suffered similar injuries or are going through the same situation?

Rick: The best advice to anybody going through this is to do your daily exercises and attend your therapy sessions with effort and you will see a difference.

Why would you recommend 3 Dimensional Physical Therapy?

Rick: I recommend 3D based on their ability to work with their patients’ needs and deliver that in an inviting and comfortable yet professional environment.

What are you most looking forward to that you may not have been able to do with your injury?

Rick: I most look forward to having a catch with my son and full use of my dominant left arm.
