Why I want to become a Physical Therapist

During my collegiate baseball career in 2013 I ruptured my UCL, leading to surgery and finalizing my interest to pursue a career in Physical therapy. My interest sparked in the sporting world, but it does not end there. I have always been fascinated in the human body and how it works, as well as how it interacts with our environment.

What do you feel are the most important qualities in a physical therapist

Some important qualities I believe a physical therapist should have include: compassion, resiliency, a drive to improve themselves and others, as well as being present in the moment. I believe providing patients with knowledge about the human body, promoting exercise along with health and wellness in the community, can have a profound effect.  I am eager to make an impact at 3DPT and empower individuals to get back to doing the things they love to do, and providing knowledge in health and wellness.  I have a true knack for wanting to help people succeed, and I am excited to continue learning about the human body, and learn different perspectives on life from the inspiring patients I will encounter at 3DPT.

Personal Interests/hobbies

I am currently engaged to my lovely fiancé, Madison, who is a pediatric nurse at The Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania. We will be getting married in May! We together have two cats Miya and Griffey who just turned 2, and are a handful. In my free time, I enjoy weight training, golfing, kayaking, as well as hiking.  My collegiate baseball career as a pitcher has led me to become fortunate enough to have a work out with the Pittsburgh Pirates as well as win a prospect league championship title (collegiate summer league). I am an avid Baltimore Orioles fan and hopeful for some better luck in the near future, but enjoy watching anything competitive.  Prior to Physical Therapy school, I worked as an aid in an outpatient clinic, an auto-detailer and a mixologist.
