Why I became a Physical Therapist
My interest in physical therapy began after experiencing numerous sports injuries growing up. I played softball and volleyball and spent a lot of time with physical therapists and athletic trainers. Entering my freshman year of college at Stockton University, I was undecided in my career but physical therapy was always in the back of my mind. My grandfather experienced a stroke about a month into my time at Stockton. I fortunately was able to visit him everyday and watched his PT sessions daily. This is where I truly saw the positive impact the therapists had on him and I decided that I could absolutely see myself in this career.

What I feel are the most important qualities in a physical therapist
I believe the most important qualities a physical therapist should have are patience, compassion, creativity, and relatability. All of these qualities allow trust to be built between the therapist and the patient. Trust is extremely important when working with a patient in order to reach goals and make progress during their time at physical therapy.
