Electric Stimulation

Electrical stimulation is a therapy that uses electrodes connected to a machine that can both promote pain relief and relaxation of painful muscles, and facilitate muscle contraction and growth. After a surgery such as an ACL reconstruction, or knee replacement, muscles can become very weak and inhibited by pain and swelling. E-stim canallow inhibited or weak muscles to contraction. This, in combination with progressive resistive exercises and other mobalitied such as BFR (LINK TO BFR) aids in strengthening and reactivating the muscles. Additionally, E-Stim has been shown to be an effective part of the treatment for both acute and chronic pain without any of the negative side effects of taking medication.
