A Balanced Diet-itian

Hello! My name is Hannah Maloney, and I’m thrilled to share a bit about my journey and aspirations in the realm of nutritional sciences. Graduating from Rutgers in 2023 with a Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences was just the beginning of my adventure into the world of dietetics and healthcare.

Throughout my academic journey, I’ve had the privilege of gaining diverse experiences in various aspects of nutrition and dietetics, from food service to clinical settings. These experiences have solidified my passion for promoting health and well-being through proper nutrition. Currently, I am pursuing my Master’s degree and Dietetic Internship in Nutritional Sciences at Saint Elizabeth’s University, with a particular focus on community and public health. This path allows me to delve deeper into understanding the broader impact of nutrition on individuals and communities alike.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to the power of food to bring people together. As a former vegetarian for about five years, I’ve explored the vast landscape of culinary possibilities and discovered the joy of experimenting with new recipes and ingredients. Cooking dinners for my family and friends has become not only a hobby but also a way to nourish and connect with those I care about.

In addition to my academic pursuits, I’ve also ventured into the realm of healthcare operations, working at 3DPT in insurance verifications and operations. Since joining in June 2023, I’ve gained valuable insights into the foundational aspects of patient care and the crucial role that insurance verification plays in ensuring smooth and efficient healthcare delivery. It’s been eye-opening to witness firsthand how seamless coordination between clients and physical therapists can significantly impact patient outcomes.

Looking ahead, my ultimate goal is to become a registered dietitian, with a focus on maternal care or pediatrics, either clinically or in private practice. I’m eagerly anticipating my upcoming internship this fall, where I’ll have the opportunity to immerse myself in various fields within dietetics and gain invaluable real-life experience.

In essence, my journey in the field of nutrition and healthcare is driven by a deep-seated passion for making a positive difference in people’s lives. Whether it’s through advocating for better nutrition practices, fostering healthy eating habits, or facilitating access to quality healthcare, I am committed to contributing to a healthier, happier, and more vibrant community. Thank you for allowing me to share a glimpse of my story with you all. Here’s to the journey ahead!
