A lot has changed since Jeff and I first began 3DPT in a 200 square foot office (thanks, Eddie!) to just finishing our 10th location and nearly opening our 11th (stay tuned!). What started as Jeff and I carrying our table and exercise bands in and out of our subleased space at the Pinelands Sports Center each day has turned into a company with over 100 people who give their best every day to help their clients and coworkers have the best experience possible. Why have we grown and why do we keep growing? In one word, partnerships.
Every 3DPT office is owned by a clinician. We would not have 10 clinics (soon to be 11!) if we did not have 10 clinicians who wanted to partner with us. Rather than identify a location and find a clinician to work there, the growth plan of 3DPT has always been to find the partner first and develop an opportunity around their interests. Every 3DPT is an active part of our communities because this is where our partners live and where their children go to school and do activities. Our partners care the same about their office, their coworkers, their patients, and their communities as Jeff and I do.
Our goal for the future is to identify 40 clinicians who would like to be partners, and help them open their practices. This means potentially 40 communities that we can impact, numerous coworkers that can enjoy coming to work, and countless patients who can have an amazing healthcare experience and achieve their goals. When Jeff and I have fears of getting too big and losing our “why”, all we have to do is read our Google Reviews from each of our partners’ offices and see that 3D continues to provide the same level of care to our patients as when we started.
So, when people ask me if I’m proud that we have grown to 10 locations, my answer is that I’m proud that I have 10 partners. Not only are all of my partners some of the smartest people I have ever been around, but they also have pushed 3DPT and myself, personally, further ahead than Jeff and I could have ever gotten on our own. By learning from each other, having open discussions and debating decisions, and focusing on best practices from each location, we have truly raised the workplace and healthcare experience for our coworkers and our patients. We would not be able to grow and have a true positive impact on our communities if 3DPT was not established on partnerships.
